Beyond Light destroyed the game. With this expansion, Bungie removed well over half the content -- places, quests, events. Most importantly, they made close to 75% of the gear useless -- INCLUDING the stuff from the previous two expansions (which they're still asking you to pay money for). This was under the guise of being able to rotate in new stuff, which to me, made sense: keep the game fresh, don't let it all get cluttered and overwhelming. But how much new gear did they bring in with this expansion, you may ask? Oh, approximately 5% of the total. They literally didn't even add one of each weapon type for this expansion.

The Beyond Light campaign was fun, but it took only like 3 hours and really didn't feel like the big game-shifting event they advertised. Instead, it felt like a side quest in any other game. The new subclass element, Stasis, was cool, but it took the whole campaign for you to actually get it. Once you beat the campaign and have Stasis, you realize the vast majority of remaining gear is best used for a different build, so you'll just wind up going back to a different element.

Don't play the game, don't buy Beyond Light, and DEFINITELY don't buy Forsaken or Shadowkeep because they're charging you for basically nothing.
