There I was, at the end of the tutorial after 3 gruelling hours. Blood, dripping from my mouth. Sweat, dripping from my brow. As I fell to my knees, I found myself bathed in a radiant white light. Looking up, raising the only arm that had strength to shield my vision, I beheld the Lord Gaben descending from between the clouds, framed by a pulsing rainbow, upon a lofty chariot carried by the choir of both angel and benevolent spirit, who sang music so beautiful I began to weep.

"Congratulations, my child. You are a video game journalist now. You passed the trials that lay before you, and lived to enact great opinion. The hard part is over, my warrior." Gaben said, resting his palm against my broken shoulder.

2/3 - Decent souls-like

Notable Pros: Variety of builds; specialisation flexibility; gorgeous environments; tight controls
Cons: Too few levels; not many music tracks; a lot of text from the various enemies & bosses, but zero voice-overs

Definitely spooky. However, the potential frustration one might experience surrounding some mechanics in the way of discovering "what changed in the house", and "how do I continue on", and "I literally just spawned in the next area why did I get murdered", really rob the player of what should be replaced with horror & terror, depending on where they're at in the game.

But yeah, still spooky.
