The game is bonkers fun. If you played Magika back in the day, you have some idea of what you're in for. Death is a guarantee, which feels a lot different from most shooters, and there's decidedly not a "meta comp" you have to play (there's optimal for the situation, but lots of things work).

By far the best part is the community. Super Earth is a fascistic bureaucracy pretending to be democratic, and everyone is in on the joke. You'll hear people "playing the part" in game and online, and it's a rip. They also don't take themselves too seriously, There are outliers of course, but I generally have more fun pugging in HD2 than I do in most other games.

Great pickup, support a small developer (Sony is publisher, not the studio).

Unofficial sequel to Airship's awesome Battlechasers: Night War title. Improves on the combat and crafting, while making good use of Riot's ever-growing world.

On the con side, there are a few longstanding, game-disrupting bugs, which disappoints (fix yer sh*t!), and the game is sorely lacking a New Game+ mode (Battlechasers had it, easily doubled my value).

Overall, if you liked Battlechasers, or turn based RPG's in general, this is a solid play.
