Reviews complaining about "pay to win" should be ignored- it's simply not true.

At 45 hours in, I have already earned enough in-game to unlock the premium warbond (and that definitely could've been done faster). Even if you pay for it, you still have to unlock the items in that track with medals you earn by playing- the same medals you use for the regular warbond, which means advancing in the premium comes at the cost of progress in the regular. That's especially notable because so far the premium weapons are not better than the base weapons, they're just different, and all of their perks have trade offs. For example, the premium assault rifle has gets explosive rounds, but a slower fire rate, smaller magazine, and less damage than the base AR. I tried it once and immediately went back to weapons I unlocked in the main warbond. None of those weapons are going to make you win.

So pretty much the only thing they're getting from spending more money is more cosmetics because, again, you can buy all of the things by just playing.

If you like Deep Rock Galactic, Starship Troopers, or Halo ODST, you will like this game. The weapons feel fantastic- first person view and the animations are all fantastically well done. Each weapon has its use case and play style that makes them feel well balanced and rewarding to use. Stratagems never cease to be amazing and deadly, to friends and foes alike, and hilariously so. The worlds and enemies are beautiful and terrifying to discover. And the team play is phenomenal, just like the predecessor. The game has 9 degrees of difficulty, and the game makes pushing harder missions a hell of a challenge and reward.

This is not just a good game and worthy successor to the franchise, it's legitimately an early contender for co-op game of the year. I cannot wait to see what comes next.

This game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ incredible. It is absolutely the Ace Combat VR game you always wanted. The cockpit view is so unbelievably immersive.

I just spent half an hour dodging missiles and rail guns in the middle of a thunderstorm. Looking over your shoulder to spot the enemy, seeing your F-14's wings swing out when you hit the brakes, and watching the target fly right by into your gunsights is such a fantastic experience.

Works great with a Saitek X52 + Quest 2. Took some trial and error to get the controls right but there's only a few buttons to map and once you do, it's smooth and simple. My biggest gripe is that there's only one button to "Change Target" and instead of targeting the one you're looking at, it cryptically cycles targets which can be frustrating when you need to fire a quick shot off.

This game is a steal and probably one of my favorite VR games, alongside Alyx and Elite: Dangerous.

Early Access Review
Imagine FTL but with full control of your ship, and real-time fast-paced action in gorgeous environments with even more gorgeouser explosions and you've basically got Everspace.

This game is aggressively fun, hard to put down, easy to learn, and even easier to pick up and put down on a whim.
