789.8 hrs on record (708.3 hrs at review time)
Over 700 hours now. Well worth the money. The game still has issues. I get about 2-3 random disconnects in a 5 hour session. Game also freezes for about 1-2 seconds everytime someone dies in a hunt after kulve patch.

Just beware potential buyers. Monster hunter world is a grindy game. RNG is completely ruthless sometimes. Grinding weapons from Kulve just to use it to kill the same monsters you've killed for 100's of hours just for those armor decorations that will make it possible for you to try out new builds just to kill the same monsters a few hundred hours more. Thats not to say we've been without free monsters since release or events (often with the same monsters, huge ones, golden ones or super small ones) for interesting rewards.

It's not a hack and slash or mindlessly spamming buttons either. If you like Darksouls ruthless and unfair punishment , sometimes wonky controls but otherwise rewarding combat this game might be for you. (Immunity frames, super armor, reading monsters etc.) LOW RANK is the games tutorial, high rank is when the training wheels come off. Tempered monsters punish those who does not prepare (upgrading armor, potions, buffs, flashpods etc). Arch tempered monsters will teach you that stacking purely offensive stats will end badly for you as in getting onehit. Behemoth is unique in that it has oneshot mechanics and will result in a failed hunt if you don't pay attention.

Scenarios

Monster does a series of combo attacks that you flawlessly avoid, you can see the next one coming and charge up your hammer attack doing a jumping uppercut like attack to hit it in the face mid attack, satisfyingly it transitions into K.O where its now wriggling defenselessly. Your 3 hunting members take the oppurtunity to pounce the monster like rabid wolfs, hacking it to pieces during the duration while its incapacitated.

With the Greatsword you charge your attacks, not in time, tackle (super armor) to avoid getting knocked around, transition into another charged attack, see the next attack coming, tackle, again, this time its perfect, you release your ultimate attack, boosters activate on your jet powered great sword, severing the tail of the monster in one massive single strike.

What Im trying to say is, perfectly executing attacks feels rewarding for all weapons in some way. Impacts feel meaty/responsive and appropriate for the weapon types.
