Having worked on the failed attempt to create this at Ubisoft years earlier, I have to give massive credit to what the multiple studios of Ubi have created. This is a well executed, open-world third-person tactical shooter with major flexibility for enemy encounters using stealth or action. The story is the best for Ghost Recon since GRAW, and the gameplay is well produced and designed.

I can't recommend this game enough to people. It's soothing, it's a great way to spend 10 minutes while waiting for something and it doesn't feel punishing at all. Well thought out routes can go a long way to giving you a hight reward, and then when you inevitably fail, you know why.

The style, visuals, music and controls are fantastic.

Train Valley is a ton of fun until you realize how some of the mechanics can betray you.
Why does it cost money to bulldoze?
Why does spending money take effect during builder mode while paused, if I've erased or changed some of it?
Why do trains automatically launch themselves if you mistakenly send it to the wrong station, can you not put it in a priority queue maybe? That ♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥ up all my other running trains.
Why do trains seemingly launch themselves when not sent to the wrong station sometimes? I was never taught this.

In addition, the lack of polish when it comes to player feedback can really, REALLY make things more difficult. Being a Unity game, it should be possible to have the icon for launching a train somehow change when you have your mouse over it. It should also be possible to have your icon and/or the tile change when in building mode to show what you're mousing over, but only if it can be built on (green tiles.)

Finally, and this is on a personal level. Why is it that on the 5th level of the game, seemingly everything is going so well, but you're given the option of a second bridge? This seems a little early in the game to start having the entire level be focused around having multiple trains launching toward similar destinations. Due to the lack of space, player feedback and some bad mechanics, I've played this level maybe 8 times and have not been able to progress.

Don't confuse this review with a lack of caring. I cared enough to really study what I was doing, pause and take it slow to plan out my routes. However, seemingly, every time either I would make one slip up and it wold excessively build, or a train would launch itself. I feel like, after 8 times on this level, actually caring enough to really plan it through, and dealing with odd mechanics, that I should have progressed on the first chapter. Some developers or readers might think, "Well, you just suck. That's not our fault." Honestly thoguh, think if I might be the only one in the future?

If I can refund it, I will. If I can buy it again further down the road, when some changes are made, I will. If I can play this game with some slight flixes in the future, I would love to.
