YES! This is exactly what I've always wanted. Basically, if this looks like the sort of thing you're interested in based on the trailer video and screenshots then yes you DO want it, get it now. Worth every penny. And save a lot of money on wire, breadboards, and 74LSXX ICs. And no I didn't get it for free and am not being bribed.

I imagine for most people this game would be more like "pain in the ass world" because it's pretty much that realistic. It's like a more realistic version of Dwarf Fortress Adventure Mode or something. except no magic and not much in the way of easy tricks and exploits.

Actually there might be magic, but just like primitive people it's difficult to tell if something like "walk backwards into your boat to to ensure a good catch" actually works. There's no "press c to cast spell. boom, you throw a fireball". It's all, someone tells you to do some things in a certain order or way and maybe it will work.

Hunting is a pain to figure out and succeed at, just like real life. At least we know for sure that's true.

But actually a number of things have been made easier and faster than they would be in real life because ultimately there's only so much time-sinking realism that people can handle in a game or simulation. People will usually trade for whatever you have at "full" value, even if they don't realistically need 20 fox paw board traps, and some things like that.

But yea it's basically "more realistic primitive people survival dwarf fortress adventure mode" and it's another one of those "labor of love" games that one guy spends all his time working on for years, just to bring the mysterious land of the primitive, frozen, Scandinavian far north to you in all it's ruthless glory. So even though you could get it free, I'd say it's at least worth the amount of donation being asked.
