This game is like the "Greatest Hits" of Kiryu's adventures across 7 titles. It has all the best parts from every game: funny side stories with callbacks to previous games, Pocket Circuit, an emotional story with interesting characters and the best iteration of the Colosseum yet.

The story runs parallel to Yakuza 7 so if you want to know what Kiryu gets up to during that time I highly recommend playing.

The departure from real time action to turn-based for it's combat is fine and silly enough to keep gameplay interesting, but this game's story is where it shines. I held Yakuza 0 quite high because I believed it was the studio at it's finest, but this game blew it out of the water.

Highly recommend.

The "3rd Strike" of SNK fighting games is still gold to play after all these years. 100% recommend as it's a blast to play with a friend.
