Early Access Review
My Brutally Honest Opinion about the State of the Game

Lets start in 2013, i've been following the game development when it was still on Alpha 4.1, and i see a lot of improvements and new content here and there the following years. But what strikes me down is for how long the game is on development until now, it's been 10 Years and the game is far from finished (at least in my opinion there is still a lot of improvements to do).

At this point i don't even know if i can ever see a finished product of this game, lets start on the positive side of the game and negative side of it.

Positive Side

The Game had a Great Concepts, it's an Open World Zombie Survival Game with a Crafting and building Mechanics just Like Minecraft which is Great. For Every 7 Days you get a horde chasing you down and destroying your base which forced you to defend yourself until the next day.

This is What i Like About The Game so Far:
  1. The Building Mechanics are Similar to Minecraft which is easier to learn and master, it also had more variety to it;
  2. Get a Horde Every 7 Days, which is unique and fun;
  3. Side Quests so it the game is not boring and you actually had something to do rather dan surviving;
  4. A Tons of Weapon Options and Tier;
  5. Mod Compatible, There is Tons of Mods to Try in 7 Days to Die whether its a quality of life changes or changing the rules of the game Entirely;
  6. Zombies are Unique and Scary

Negative Side

  1. Long Development, the game has been develop longer than DayZ at this point, i do understand that the devs wanted to add a lot more content and features, but it's not an excuse for almost or over 10 years of development.
  2. Animation & Physics, Developer worked hard for improving the animation, but as in the current state, it's still not great. For Years of Years of Development i'm expecting something better whether its NPC, Enemies, or Player Animation is still far from finished. Even Minecraft had better combat animation than this game has, i can still shoot and hit zombies whether it's from far distances or close combat. Weirdly in 7 days to die sometimes i always miss a shot or even a swing from a melee weapon. I Do not think it was a skill issue since i never find this problems on any other game i have ever played. I Do think it was something to do with the Animation itself which is confusing and difficult to get used to.
  3. Maps, The World itself are pretty flat, of course there a variety here and there but i did not find it amusing or unique. It's looks like a Generic Map with nothing to awe. The Random Map Generation are pretty much "too random", weird shape hill here and there and even houses are in a weird places sometimes.

    Conclusion

    The Game itself is great, i do like it and enjoy it, but there is still so much to be work on, and i can't see the game finished in the next couple of years. I Do hope that Fun Pimps will finish this game in the future and make it more enjoyable experience on Open World, Building, Crafting Zombie Apocalypse.

    I Do Recommend this game if you are interested in this kind of genre, and have the time and patience to wait for the finished product.
