CalfVR is a free to play VR video platform. It worked on my Index system, looked bad, played bad, sounded ok, was understandable. Requires an account made with Calf and signed in.
On launching, you are placed in a theater mode with 180 degree video Autoplaying with pretty women subjects or rock concert videos, very badly lagging even my gaming computer and internet down. Could not find a way to stop playing videos, only pause. No instructions. Might work better on a HTC Vive system. Some of the controls didn't work on the Index. Yeah, they are going for TikTok in VR.

Maybe try this free VR video platform, but it sounds like it is pushing you to pay for subscription.

Hunter Beat is a free to play VR rhythm shooting game. It worked on my Index system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. This is a short game, there are only four songs, one easy, two medium, one hard and most of the songs are short in length. Might call it a tech demo. Funny shooting ducks, seeing them explode into feathers and bones. Has 3 steam achievements.

Maybe try it for free, but there are better games out there for free.

Paintball Playground is an Early Access VR shooter game. It worked to a point on my Index system, looked ok in lobby, sounded ok, played no. Does Not support Index controllers, had no controllers. 2 people as devs. Only supports Occulus.

Don't bother downloading, if you don't have Oculus system.

Aexia is an Early Access Free to play VR role-playing game. It worked on my Index system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok.
Has a discord server and access account. Has 3 themes to work with: Urban, Fantasy, Sci Fi. Looks like you can publish your script for free.

CONS: Nobody playing this.

Maybe try this free role-playing game, if you like acting or directing movies.

Boneless VR is a free VR physics sandbox game. It worked on my Index system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. Has some instructions. You can play with a variety of weapons. Can spawn an AI controlled enemy. Needs more work. The guns are rather clunky. Has four maps.

Maybe try this free game, but there is not much too it.

Streetball VR is a free to play VR basketball game. It worked on my Index system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. Has 6 steam achievements. Movement mode is teleport only, does not work well with playing basketball. Has 3 maps. At one time this was a paid program, now it is free. I was sort of able to dribble the balls. The ball feels too light.

Maybe try this game if you like shooting basketball.

Frontline Heroes VR is a free to play VR wave shooter game. It worked on my Index system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ? The sound didn't work the first time i tried it. Has instructions for Vive. Has a tutorial map. Supposed to have a story and puzzles. Has 10 steam achievements. At one time this was a paid program, now it is free.

CONS: Buggy as heck.

Maybe try this free game, but there are better games out there.

Dungeon Full Dive: Player Edition is an Early Access free to play VR TTRPG program. It worked on my Index system, looked ok, sounded ok, played? Requires many GM people out there to buy the GM version to set up and host games. I tried to join a open hosted game but it kept failing. There is no in-game instructions or tutorial, button takes you to web browser video. They added an offline quest prep area. Has a discord server.

CONS: Nobody is buying the GM version and hosting games.

Maybe check this out for free but it needs a lot more work.

Treasure Defence is a free VR tower defense game. It worked on my Index system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. No in-game instructions or tutorial. Not sure what i am doing. There is no money to start with. There is no pieces to start with.

Maybe try this free VR game, if you like tower defense games, but this is very unfinished and broken.

X8 is a free to play VR hero shooter game. It worked on my Index system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. Has a tutorial.

CONS: Nobody is playing this game.

Maybe try this free game, you might like it if you like hero shooters.
