If League of Legends were zoomed in all the way and the targets were -still- tiny.
Enjoy cooldowns upwards of a minute on basic abilities.
Emptying your MP bar with one volley of powers.
Moving to a target's position rather than attacking it nine times out of ten due to a mis-click on the itty-bitty opponent.
If you like LoL and feel like a badass, this game will make you a noob again. Bring all the skill you like, the game itself is working against you.

Minecraft is a simulator and a sandbox. Terraria is a -game-. The simplicity of 2D allows the crafting system to be seriously over-the-top... forget stone tools. Try axes made out of demonite and shadow scales, Phaseblades (they're lightsabers, let's be honest) made from meteorite ores and gems, and armor forged from the deadly-hot stone mined from hell itself, in its own smelter!
No creepers to blast your buildings to hell.
BOSS MONSTERS. WHEEE!
And a Dungeon to run ripshod through and loot, with its own powerful monsters.
(Plus secrets. Floating islands. I didn't tell you that. Shhhh.)

This game, and its "Free for All" expansion, is an insult to the F2P microtransaction model. If you're looking for a good game that you can enjoy on its own merits, without spending a dime... play something else. ANYTHING else. As a "Silver" player, all you're entitled to is a wooden baseball bat up the backside. NO global chat until you've got twenty hours of gameplay. NO custom power colors, despite the STEAM advertisement. NO freeform character builds, 'enjoy' the limited archetype system, which is inherently weaker than freeform.
AND THAT'S NOT ALL!
As a superhero character, your powers all have a limited range and area of effect. The run-of-the-mill mook with a handgun DOES NOT HAVE this limitation. Don't bother running from an engagement you can't finish, just die fighting... it's more satisfying. Once an NPC has you targetted with a ranged attack, they can hit you at any distance, through any obstacle.
All in all... PASS. Commercial fallacies aside, it's a terrible GAME, too.

This game was sold based on the premise of its destructible terrain. The destructible parts of the world are few and very, very obvious. It's hardly a tactical element.

This game is probably unlike anything you've experienced before. I played it when it was a demo of the UDK, and have been anxiously awaiting its STEAM release.

No MP. No cooldowns. Just an arcane framework system that can be bent to your will. Eight primary elements. Two secondary elements. Five slots to conjure elements into when building a spell. Four ways to cast that spell. Beams, balls, sprays, bolts, elemental admixtures, and predefined spell combos.
And enough enemies to present a credible threat. Tripled.

True to the series. You won't recognize the way the weapons look, but after a couple of shots they'll feel like old friends again. You won't recognize the level textures, but the layouts will be familiar.
The addition of a storyline in campaign mode, rather than the usual tournament format (Though warfare uses respawners, so it's not that different) is an alien element. But once you fill two Liandri bots with tarydium rounds, feed a nearby Krull a chestful of flak, and shock-beam the flag carrier off the west edge of Facing Worlds, you'll be right at home again.

I'm not exactly an expert on poker, or poker games. But this isn't a game about poker. This is a game about four powerful personalities of the gaming world coming together around a poker table. You just happen to be there yourself. Match wits with Tycho. Get intimidated by the Heavy. Try vainly to tell the difference between bluffing Strong Bad and confident Strong Bad. Watch as Max plays like a maniac, risking half his chips on almost anything.
But you didn't come here for the cards. You came to listen to the table conversation.

Brown, Red, Green, and Blue. Because if your minions weren't color-coded, they'd forget their own damn jobs. With that out of the way, the rest is up to you. Point menacingly at foes, ordering a steady stream of small goblinoid terrors into battle. Wade into melee yourself if your pathetic entourage has trouble understanding orders. Find treasure. Command underlings. Choose whether to be a benevolent and helpful lord, or a murderous despot. Your minions are ready, Overlord.

More modded than Oblivion, and exponentially better for it. If you don't wax nostalgic at mention of the Redeemer or the ASMD Shock Rifle, you haven't lived.
And if you do know UT, but you don't know U4E... then you don't know razorjack.
