S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Best atmosphere, also host to a lot of golden, unscripted moments.
L4D - I adore how it encourages people to play as a team
Far Cry 2 - It's dynamic AI has been the root to a lot of memorable gaming moments.
Red Faction: Guerrilla - Unmatched mayhem.
F.E.A.R. - Not including the sequel. Best gunfights due to excellent AI, slow-mo, melee moves.
Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad - Buggy, but so fun.
Max Payne 1/2 - Best writing and story. Unique gunplay.
Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 - How to implement a good cover system.
Fallout: New Vegas - Best FPS RPG, hilarious at times.
Team Fortress 2 - Never gets old.
Battlefield 2/2142 - Focuses on playing as a team rather than give everyone one-man army capabilities.

They managed to make a good game even better. Better combo system, and counters. More fluid animations. It's good fun. Devil May Cry in 2D basically.
Varying from decent to great, a sidescrolling puzzle platformer. Low gravity on-demand and recoil jumping make for some fun.
More action oriented than it's predecessor, but still the same good Dead Space. The city where it transpires is less awe-inspiring than the USG Ishimura was. Cutscenes are still as intense.
