Support for XP hosting is not planned.
I used succesfully already with this same setup
but today when i joined... i got "Hosting is not currently supported on this platform".
I know it was not officially released in linux yet... but in beta... the option was there and was working... thats why i wonder why is says is not currently supported on this platform... when it was working sucesfully before
I've been experimenting with density in gaming computers[imgur.com] for quite some time, and I would really like to add Steam IHS to it. Is there anything I can play with in regard to Steam IHS? Even a beta or something? I'd like to run a setup that's very similar to the OP's here on that system, and stream out to lightweight clients.
oh okay... so is not a configuration issue as i thought... it really isnt available anymore
Thanks
Also, I'm curious what proc you're using that can support 4 VMs concurrently for gaming.
AMD 8-core. FX 8150 I think? I couldn't get the vitals I wanted out of VMware, but I knew the stock HSF was noisy as hell so I threw an H100 on it. Overclocked it 20% or so and had room for more but stability testing was a pain in the rear :P
For the ethernet bit, I could just channel everything through the one ethernet port. :)
I'm thinking more of a big/small setup with the same tech on both ends. The difference is that I can make the multi-headed client out of a tiny box that just does decoding. Three add-on GPUs plus an integrated one would work really well :)
