Get Worms 2 instead when it goes on a sale-- oh wait, it is not on Steam, only on the G-one. No good reason why. This WA one is raw. Some of the many issues:

- Exposes your IP etc. when you play this online. Streaming this stuff is practically asking for a DDOS attack. What's the point of this WormNet thing if it does not act like a proper proxy service. This is not high tech, rather basic tech today. You are always running a risk when playing this one online. Sure there is some Steam Buddy (?) thing that is supposed to obfuscate IPs etc., though all I see when it is being used are games randomly desyncing at the start and banning people for saying the n word in the pre-match chat lmao

- Mission 9 Water Surprise. No one likes this mission because it requires pixel-perfect aim over long distances, meaning it is made for bots and is not fun.

- Also the thing with the basic training of failing one part requiring you to replay the previous levels again - a boneheaded idea i.e. not fun in a game that is supposed to be fun. It was not this bad in Worms 2, it had reasonable missions.

Hey developers: if you are going to update the game, why not fix the bad content and replace the stupid design failures with new ones. No one forces T17 to keep those net-loss content designs. It is so bad they would be better off removing them. It is like cancer - the whole is better off without it and average quality level increases when it is gone. These things are issues that should have been ironed out with proper beta testing and not ignoring the feedback. This content quality shift from W2 helps understand why the subsequent games got progressively worse.

It is telling how "good" the game is when even the walkthrough videos have mods / cheats on.

- Worms 2 is good and cheaper, get that instead. It is much more polished. I get the feeling there is some corporate milking going on with the pricing and stuff. WA is 90 % W2 anyway.

WA feels like they hired some dudes of Worms 1 to work on this one and those antiquated, punishing (level) designs came from them. That game was extremely punishing. Basically anything powerful was either a limited pick-up or a weapon requiring godly skill to use. A competent AI will always beat the player in these Scorched Earth games because they are all about that math and you aren't. I cannot wait for my geometry class-- I mean Worms 1.

Worms Armageddon - it is okay until you actually play it through. It is an excellent warning example of "more is not always better." It got a lot of passes because it came in the wake of Worms 2. By the time Worms World Party was published, most of that goodwill had faded and the press was more "fair" to it. That is the real reason for why Worms Armageddon is supposedly so great - the timing of its release and its association with Worms 2.

Also, Worms 2 was not available for purchase for quite a while at one point - a pure digital distribution technicality. The pricing data implies that Worms 2 (1997) got added to the G-one as late as 2012. Therefore, I have zero good-faith reasons to believe that T17 can fairly and properly manage this general Worms IP. Why not just upload every game onto every platform so that people can buy it. This reeks of T17 trying to get a deal. If the store declines the deal, the customers get screwed. If the store agrees to it, the store itself does. Business is zero-sum game and someone will have to pay for the T17's extra cut. I would not support T17 on a principle. It reeks of trying to make a buck while driving the whole franchise into the ground. That is what I am seeing.
