New to this game and I am playing the vanilla 1.12 release. I like it apart from the very poor logistics management. Even Xcom 1 let you drop things on the floor and put stuff in a storage area. In this every inventory swap is a tedious operation between a character and a character or a character and a tiny spot on the ground. Why didn't they just copy Xcom 1? This is something I've been wondering about from time to time, why is this genre dead? Sure, there are some tactical turn-based squad combat games out there, but they're always much narrower and never as deeply involved as JA2, let alone the 1.13 mod. All new games that do something akin to JA2 are small and feel like a heavily scripted and/or perfectly linear series of combat arenas. Wouldn't a new game in this genre with the scope of a heavily fleshed out JA2 sell? I've been playing this game on and off ...

If you are a new or casual player, take the DLL's from the windows 8 compatiblity fix folder in the 1.13 patch, put it in main game folder and ditch the rest. 1.13 is an awful unbalanced nightmare for hardcore players and I don't understand why so many curated reviews are recommending this as a requirement....

so i fired this up cuz ive been thinking of JA3 and its taking too long, and i just get a black screen eternally, and it used to work just fine. the only thing thta has changed is ive upgraded to win 11. Any advice? thanks
