There is a new scam that hijacks your account that I have recieved 3 times so far. My friends will send me a message saying, "OMG WTF DUDE and a link to a website" under any circumstances NEVER CLICK THIS LINK. IT IS A TROJAN VIRUS THAT WILL HIJACK YOUR STEAM ACCOUNT. Your friend sent it to you because their accounts got hijacked and it is a continious cycle. PLEASE BE AWARE AND SPREAD THIS TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW.

NEW INFO: WEBROOT and NORTON SEEM TO BLOCK THE SITE. PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS

Steam scam

Watch out guys there is a new virus going around Steam. It goes a little a little like this when you first get it from a friend:

*Sends you the malicious link disguised as a PNG image file*
Go trade me!

Once you click on it opens a blank page and depending on your browser and settings it will download itself. Once it is downloaded it will spam your entire friends list with that message and spread itself to everyone else.
It is also said that this virus will steal your inventory. I was lucky enough to remove it within the first minute, others may not be so lucky.

If you use Google Chrome make sure to tick the "ask where to save each file before downloading" button. With this checked, files cannot automatically download onto your computer.

Anyone can make any site that either downloads a file, or shows a fake steam login and when they get closed down, they can make another and another and another.

If they were using their OWN account, then they are stupid, chances are they were using an alt account or even someone elses hijacked account to pass things on to other people. This is the reason why naming and shaming isn't allowed - the account you're attacking or trying to get people to attack, MAY be the victim of a hijack and be trying to get their account back themselves!

My steam account have been hack this date and time during I playing Dota 2 Nov.9,2014 that time is 3:00Pm I send the photo my items history in steam community and the player steam profile the one who hack my account he send me a message hi bro want to trade items? See it by using this link after that I see the photo and he said did you click it? He said that is for hack items then ur items will be all gone then my steam account got virus my steam auto sending the link of all my friends.. Spread and I check my items after 2minutes or 3mins then all items gone item left is the not tradeable ...... I send all imformations and photos to gmail steam community I send the steps for reporting the questions then the subject the game problems then I attach more files photos I send it to steam community then I got ticket what I should do too retrieve items? How long. Will wait please someone here help me please I don't know the latest updated about that issues...... Someone reply sorry for bad English....

one guy tried to add me multiple times called ( unnasigned) , idk why.. seems scammy
