Your moderators are running off customers. Fire/train/pay some new ones
Steam has just lost a very high paying customer due to the forum nazis who delete and lock any thread that isnt uplifting and hopeful.

Some games need to have bad reviews. I am tired of buying crappy games because the moderator nazis deleted all the bad reviews. Ive spent thousands of dollars on steam and I will never buy another game again from steam because of this.

Get rid of these volunteer moderators who think they''re something special and hire and train some new ones in the art of customer service.

Bye

Volunteer moderators do not delete threads just because they give negative views.
Constructive criticism is what it's all about. If your negative thread is constructive, then the volunteer moderators will not touch it. However, if the replies become aggressive, a lock can be expected.

If you are talking about gamehubs, note that the developers and publishers of the games have access to moderator options for their gamehubs, so if you are finding constructive negativity being removed from gamehubs it's most likely not the volunteer moderators but the developers/publishers not being able to handle the negativity.

But, for the most part, it boils down to being constructive with your criticism.

You keep using that 4 letter word...
I think i can make a pretty educated guess about why your reviews get locked/deleted. And i'm afraid it's not due to criticism (there's plenty on here)

In years of Using SPUF and these discussions i've never had an issue with moderators, and i've voiced contrary opinions whenever i've felt it.
Maybe the problem is not on their end.

Isn't this like the2nd thread on tnhis you've made. You already got your fairly reasonable answers in the FIRST thread. What supposed 'threads' and games are you even talking about. The Hate Train is going pretty strong on Ace of Spades and The War Z, even on their Game Hubs.

First of all, we don't delete threads simply because they are negative; if so wouldn't this thread be deleted too? Second, I don't see any deleted posts by OP in the Steam (non-game) forums, so I can only assume this is occurring in a game hub.

It happens all the time. Give some kind of negative feedback on game hubs and you can expect your thread to be removed in the next 3 days.

Off topic in steam forums is also censored quite effectively. Do not bother creating threads about any politically flammable subjects. This is why off topic is filled with "write a letter/word/cats name" threads.

It annoys me that if your threads is deleted, you do not even receive any notice or message why it was done. It just disappears.

For example this thread was moved to suggestions and nobody reads them, it is pretty much same as deleting it ... Suggestions are the black hole of steam forums, anything unimportant is moved to them.

Even single messages in threads are deleted, and no notice is given to the writer. How can you even know why the message was deleted?

As has been said above, Volunteer mods do not delete negative reviews of games and seeing as it's in a game hub they can't do that anyway, it's the game developers and publishers doing so. So I suggest you stop blaming the wrong people and actually know what you're talking about before posting.

First of all lets get one thing straight, you didn't spend "thousands" on 130 games, you spent maybe a thousand http://www.lambentstew.com/webblog/miniproject/steamanalysis/steam_value/xandramas. Next, you are confusing game hubs with the forums. These two are different and ran differently, with the developers having control. Your beef is with the developers of said game not Steam itself. Before you threw your childish rant you should have done your homework in more than one area.

No. What happens is that the thread usualy turns into insults and flamming. That is what gets the thread deleted. It isn't usualy the feedback...unless said feedback was done in an unconstructive manner.

Most gamers do not know that devs/publishers have access to the game hub forums. They assume they are volunteer moderated.

Many of the newer, indie, very buggy and totally broken games delete any forum post that does not reflect well. They don't lock it, or remove a particular comment. They nuke the entire thread.

The power to totally delete threads needs to be removed from them. It is being abused all over the place.

I keep seeing legitimate discussions go missing from my subscribed to list. I'll get a notification of a new comment, but the tread will be no where to be found. Now maybe somone put a bad comment in at the end and caused the moderation. But shouldn't just that 1 commend be deleted? I would prefer this show in the forums for each moderation act: name of the user who made the post, the name of the mod, and a notice that the comment has been removed.

Right now its all sunshine and roses in forums that should be filled with "don't buy it" posts.

Did you need to necro a 3 month old post

As noted there is plenty of negative feedback in the discussions, even those that are moderated.

Also note that thread creators can delete their own threads.
