Will there be a Steam Ramadan Sale?
I'm perfectly fine with the Steam Holiday sale and I am glad that Valve respects their community. However, being a Muslim, I was hoping Valve might host a "Steam Ramadan Sale" during Ramadan each year?

Instead of crafting snow globes, users would be able to craft Stars and Crescents. The Stars and Crescents could then be turned into items, such as Team Fortress 2 turbans and Dota 2 burkhas.

I believe that such an event would help showcase that Steam is a diverse international community of friends. You might even consider hosting sales for other major religions, such as a Steam Diwali Sale. Of course, Valve and game developers/publishers would make a lot of money off of the sale as well.

What does everyone think of my idea?

I am not opposed to regional sales like the ones you proposed.

There is no point in starting to have to many sales.
2 Major sales a year is enough, with some small sales thrown in between.
To many big sales just takes away the fun of waiting for them.

Will there be a Steam Yom Kippur Sale for Jews or Black Mass Sale for Satans? Yeah, right.

This is the most ridiculous request I've ever heard and the guy is dead serious. But I'm not opposed to having more sales druing the year. Heck, I'll even create a new bullsh*t religious holiday just for that purpose.

Christmas, although it has its religious beginnings isn't actually necessarily viewed that way by the majority now. It's mainly a day of being with friends and family and the exchanging of gifts.

You and I are using different definitions of the word 'serious'.

I think you are missing the point of the steam sales, it is easier to think of the sales as coinciding with public holidays, when the greatest number of people are off work.

Then they have the seasonal sales, which are pretty self-explanatory.

Adding sales for non public holidays would probably add too much congestion.

Also Valve tries to remain religion nuetral, hence why the sales are for public holidays, which is why they aren't called Christmas sales.
christmas isnt even religious for most people now,am i right?

Christmas was never a religious day for me. I never knew it had Christian origins until I was an adult after some Mormons or some other Christian religion came knocking on my door.

All I knew as a kid was that Christmas was a day for free stuff and good food!
