Acer c720 199 USD as Steam portable console, IT WORKS
Sream:same hardware, same price with Steam OS PREINSTALLED with a 4Gb RAm and 500 Gb HDD option and you would conquer even the developing countries console market.
And this hardware in a box - even cheaper would be even better.

With instructions to install CROUTON, XUbuntu in chroot and Steam in ubuntu and wine

And yes IT WORKS and it is only 199 USD

Games that I’ve tested and found to work and run with smooth framerates:
Bastion
Counter Strike: Source (video stress test yielded 72 fps avg result; this suggests similar performance in other Source engine titles like Half-Life 2, TF2, L4D, etc.)
Crusader Kings 2
Don’t Starve
FTL: Faster Than Light
Frozen Synapse
Gratuitous Space Battles
Kerbal Space Program (initial loading after launch is very slow and graphics settings must be turned down for acceptable performance, but it runs)
Half-Life 2
Mark of the Ninja (decent FPS with bloom and blur disabled)
Minecraft (not available on Steam, but still runs great)
Rogue Legacy
Shadowrun Returns
Starbound
Uplink
Games demonstrated by other users:
Skyrim (via Wine; achieves about 15-20 FPS)
Games that have not run successfully yet:
DEFCON
Natural Selection 2
