Someone else's account alert is not necessarily related to the reason your account has an alert. There can be several different causes of that.
You should be more worried about your account alert, and not what has happened to other users with their account alerts.

Just be sure that when you put ANY information ANYWHERE it is ONLY specifically on steam's log in. NOT on some site that may look like it, do your research.
Is this message addressed to your current profile name? or to your actual account name?

If I understood you correctly, yes you just wait.
But really, it would help maybe to know WHY your account has the alert. I don't think you posted that yet here.
For example, if you did a chargeback on your account, then you would need to reverse that as soon as possible. We don't know unless you tell us why the account has the alert.
If you honestly do not know, then just ignore what I am saying here.

No one is saying you are stupid. We are just trying to look out for you, because there are fake support messages out there that appear official and that can install Malware on your system even, and possibly hijack your account.
