Steam Account Alert
I found this website where you are given a 5$ disposable, virtual visa card for doing surveys etc. and I got a lot of them and used all of them on my Steam account yesterday. Today I woke up with an account alert saying that my account may have been used for fraudulent activity and they took all of my money away, I've already contacted them and I'm waiting for a response, but I just wanted to make a forum post about this because I'm kind of scared because I read other people who got account alerts and a lot of them got theirs permanently and those who got theirs removed had a 3 month ban before they could do anything. Do you think I'll get my money back and get the account alert removed? I can't afford to have an account alert.

Oh also, my friend has been using the same website for a whole week and hasn't gotten an account alert.

There is no way for us here to know if your account has received a restricted functionality alert message for the Visa cards you mentioned in the OP. It may be because of something else, as we cannot know here.

But that already sounds shady to me, using that site for those "cards".

It depends on what support says. Usually the alert message you get is pretty self-explanatory, and covers what you need to be concerned with.

We don't work for Valve, so we cannot tell you what they will do, as we don't know what happened.

In short, no one here can help with account issues like this. You have to wait on support.

I don't need help, I just need to know what they usually do and what I should expect in a situation like this. And what's so shady about it? It's a normal website where you do surveys for stuff, the internet is littered with them.

Just because the internet is littered with them doesn't mean you should be using them. Gotta stay safe man, I feel bad for the alert though :/

The internet is "litttered" will all sorts of bad places and things, but that does not mean that you have to use them and trust them.

Like I said, we have no way to know what happened, or if this is even the reason. I am not going to that site to check it myself anyway.

If you want to copy and paste your actual support alert message here, with NOT posting your account login or personal information, you are free to do so.

Then, maybe we have a better idea of the exact alert that you have, and can then give a better answer.

And answering your questions that you are asking IS help.

Not that kind of help that you were talking about though. Anyway I guess I'll just wait. Last question though, how long does it usually take for them to respond?

It varies. Sometimes, they reply quickly. Other times, it can take a few days or more.
