Unable to download games
Whenever i try to download games i get a timeout error but for some reason there are no issues updating the ones i have installed, tried changing regions (from mexico to united states phoenix) clearing download cache, disabling firewall, reinstalling steam and it's still not working. Any help is apreciated.

Same here.

I would possibly assume you have admin privileges on your computer so try to,

- restart your computer in safe mode with networking

- then run Steam and attempt to downkoad the game then.

If this solves your issue, another program or process could be conflicting with Steam.

Have the same issue. Has there been a steam update in the last 24hrs?

I also have the same issue but on Mac, not PC.

I was downloading games yesterday, but today I just get timeout errors.

It hangs on the screen saying

"Creating local game files

Preparing Owlboy for install"

then, nothing for 1 min before showing

"Steam - Error.

An error occurred while installing Owlboy (connection time out)"

This is happening on all games I try to download and install.

I've restarted computer, restarted steam, and even deleted all the folder other than steamapps like they suggest in troubleshooting, but still this is happening.

Is this a steam issue? or should I try something else?

Hey I am having these types of problems as well :/ No internet connection errors and connection timed out errors when installing any game.

It seems to be certain accounts. This forum thread discusses a fix using a secondary account (you just need another email address) and using the family sharing option to install the game from the second account. You can then play it from your primary account.

Tried this and it didn't work.

Does anyone know how to open a ticket?

Thanks for the info! I'll give it a try later today in the day.

New account works. Old account is broken.
