Borderlands startup error [FIXED]
So I just bought Borderlands, I'm pretty sure that my computer exceeds the game's requirments, but here are my specs: Name: NVIDIA GeForce GT 545
Chip: GeForce GT 545
DAC: Integrated RAMDAC
Processor: AMD FX-8150 8-core processor
Memory: 10240MB RAM
But whenever I try to play Borderlands, there is a few seconds of nothing, then a giant error message saying "General Protection Fault" and a bunch of text. After a few seconds of dissapointment, and sadness setting in, Another message pops up saying that there was a runtime Error (heres the whole message: Runtime Error! Program: c:\program files (x86)\... R6025 - Pure virtual function call.) I searched forums for fixes and help, but none of it worked, I really need help with this, I want to play this game so badly that I refuse to get a refund for it. Please someone help me!

What did you do to fix it?

Apparently there was a file I had to run called "vcredist_x64". when I ran it, it installed some more files that made the game actually run.

heres the directory for the sake simplicity: "C:\Program\Files(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\borderlands\Prerequisites" then it should just be somewhere in there.

Hey, I'm trying that vcredist_x64 located in the aftermentioned location... looks promising so far. Looks like it never went through the C++ that normally goes though. There's much more info about that r6025 runtime error here: http://ezinemark.com/a/how-to-fix-runtime-error-r6025-repair-visual-c-runtime/

So, uninstalle/reinstalled via steam, c++ installed manually as mentioned.. still same error... anyone else find something that works yet?

Drivers for my video card (5770) and windows 8 don't exist maybe, because this worked fine before I upgraded to windows 8, though I haven't tried (unitl just now) playing on win8... it's been a month or so... I'm guessing to try old drivers OR a new card OR an UPDATE FROM THE GAME or AN UPDATE FROM MICROSOFT?

Same problem, it all started when I downloaded Metro:Last Light, which won't start by the way. Tried restoring computer to date before I first started Metro, no luck. Tried manually starting vcredist_64, nothing. Cleaned registry, retried, nothing. Removed Borderlands (1), reinstalled twice, will not run through " first intall" and reinstall vcredist on it's own. Any ideas left?
