Can I have steam and the standalone launcher at the same time?
Do they interfere when I installed them both? Probably not (?) But do I really need to install the game twice on the same PC in order to use a "steam char" and a "standalone char"? Or can I connect the install files somehow? Cheers guys

They shouldn't interfere but I don't know why you'd need both.

The launcher has the ability to launch several clients (each a seperate account) at once. The only thing that will keep you from using multiple accounts is the alpha clone limit, which only allows for one account per computer to be in-game at any one time. All the accounts you wish to be in-game with simulateously on a single computer must be Omega Clones.

Ok thanks! I'm planning on having a second account on steam, because a second account gives me the recruitment bonus, which as an awful lot of skillpoints in the beginning. wouldnt want to miss that out. And I wanted to know if it's cooler when I have a steam account as well, because my friends play over steam but me not) But still my biggest question would be if I would need to install the game twice? that would suck. I dont want a steam and a standalone folder

Steam Eve is the exact same as regular eve EXCEPT it has even more problems with the launcher, steam drama, etc. I havnt had issues in a while BUT steam eve used to regularly be down or otherwise inaccessable sometimes for up to a couple days when standalone people were business as normal. Essentially nobody is going to tell you that steam eve vs just making a new standalone acount is the way to go, you can still recruit yourself and all that and are only saving yourself problems.

You can use both launchers just make sure they are both pointed to the same shared cache. Would only actually have one launcher open at time though, could get screwy with updates. You can launch your normal account with the steam launcher but can't launch your steam account with the normal launcher so I would just keep using normal accounts. Also when you make multiple accounts keep in my mind you CAN use the same email for them
