Disc versus Steam

I bought the disc and it does not work properly. I cannot get it to start up. Do I need to purchase it on here and download? I have not done this. I even have other games that have the discs and just allowed the to upload through steam. Please help as I have not been able to play this game for a long time.

What's your OS?

You have to realize that the disc (the game) was released back in the late 90's (early 2000s?), so that was what, WIn98? At the very least, you'd probably have to install it under compatibility mode but as far specifics, it could get complicated.

So frankly, yes, you'll probably need to purchase the HD version since it was designed/updated to work with more modern OSes. Granted, there's still a tweak you have to do if you have Win10 since that wasn't out yet when HD was released, but by and large, it pretty much runs after that.

Original Manual: Windows 95/98, Pentium 166 Mhz or higher, 32MB memory, 300MB HD, 4x CD-rom drive, SVGA video card with 2 MB memory, Sound card, Direct X 7 or higher, 28.8 modem for internet play. 95 page manual with foldout of building dependancy chart. This is how old the game is.
