Warning: Teambashing is toxic and it happens all to often.
If you're anything like me, playing in competitive has been troubling as a typical game has in store for many players not just myself, a sickness amung the player base. Withdrawing any respect for fellow players that are there to compete and have fun just like the ones doing the bashing must be stopped. In most cases I have found that team bashing comes from 1 of two people in the group to kick things off. The top player and the lowest scoring player on the team typically are the ones to start bashing although there are many exceptions. This can range in levels of abuse from simply being called agressively a "noob" with malicious intent directed at your character for making a decision that the agressor would not have made themselves, even though they are dead and you are the last one alive for example, to hundreds of lines of text or whole game voice chats ripping a player to pieces over a competitive match.

Now, if you don't see the problem here I'm going to spell it out for you, so you best listen.
I'm sick of you egotistical, socially engineered, hypocritical team bashers. We are all human beings congregating here together to have fun. People do not deserve to be kicked just because they are not at your level of play or because they wouldn't do what you would have done. HOW DARE YOU ROB THEM OF THE OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY JUST BECAUSE YOU THINK YOU'RE BETTER?
It is time for those who are suffering from this abuse in game to take a stand and I pray the devs are behind me on this because regardless of what these team bashers are saying to you they probably wont survive long without you in a comp match. I've proven this already and this is how you should do it because they need to be taught that it is a privilage to play with others:

At the start of the match say, "If there is even 1 instance of team bashing to any degree you may as well kick me because I'll just stop playing. You've been warned."

They will probably all gang up on you because when you actually have to follow through with it, but trust me following through is absolutly worth it and you'll feel better afterwards when the team hits a total brick wall because you've decided to say, "Hey, guess what, a good clean game is much more fun than being told how much I suck over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. It's a privilage to play with me and I'm not budging due to the disrespect you've shown. It's unsportsman like the behaviour shown and this is a team I will not support."

They will report you for griefing, but without consideration that they themselves are the griefer; They will call you a baby, but you're not you're just demanding respect; They will say you're unskilled, which is funny cuz generally they are within your rank scope therefore saying just as much about themselves as they are you and lastly they will not apologize because they have to much pride in themselves to admit they are wrong.

The sad part is from the videos I've seen this behaviour (team bashing) is actually encouraged by the teams in the pro league. You know... the ones where in recent news have been caught hacking and one even stated that 40% of em hack which is probably a conservative number anyway.

So, take a stand with me and try to clean up this behaviour by refusing to support a team that bashes.

im all for acting nice and everything, cause the moral of the team has an impact on the players wether its good or bad. Although if the worst player on the team is 1k and 14d by round 16 into the game, then the team and I have a right to get a bit fustrated with that person because we are playing competitive for a reason, to win, thats why its called competetive. I try to give tips when able to but most of the time they dont listen, and theres nothing i can do so ya others and I do get fustrated at times.

That is completely different and I agree with you in some respects but it's probably not that persons fault and has probably been carried by smurfs to get to a level they cant handle. They still deserve respect. They're not that dumb, they can see they did ♥♥♥♥♥♥. So be it.

This is griefing, if they are bashing you or any other player on your team, report them appropriately; Abusive Voice Chat/Abusive Text Chat. Stop being a ♥♥♥♥.

No it's not. You've given them fair warning and consequence. By teambashing they sign an agreement to the behaviour, therefore it's not griefing.

If you follow through on your warning, it most definetly is griefing. You getting offended by players saying mean things means you're too delicate or easily hurt. Some random person on the internet saying "omg u suck" shouldn't affect the way you play.
Even writing that sentence in the beginning gives people a good picture of how you are as a person. Stop this nonsense and use common sense.

I completely disagree because you're missing the point and taking my stance on the issue and converting it to something it's not. Formally known as a strawman argument, you have asserted that my position is entailing I am to delicate or easily hurt and that is the reason for my action. When my stance is clearly "I DEMAND RESPECT FOR MYSELF AND OTHERS." Clearly, common sense isn't that common when logic is thrown away and shame on you for condoning disrespect.

So what will you do when they/if they flame you, but refuse to kick you?

Completely irrelevant to the debate. I would practice taking on chickens or other distant inanimate targets. Take the loss of the match shrug it off and play with a decent team.

By the way, I am not condoning disrespect, I'm just saying there are other ways of handling it rather than being a major part of the reason you lost. The way you're going on about this is childish.
"Don't disrespect or I'll make sure we lose." Definetly isn't the right approach to this issue.

Again another malformation of my stance. They usually teambash to imply they are better and u suck, but not playing shows the team that you are a important part of the team especially when they prove they needed u by losing.
Ravenous Demon Nov 27, 2014 @ 3:40pm
added, if any real consequence affected teambashers it wouldnt happen anymore.
