CSGO Engine Error

I'm having this problem when during map loads. From what I can see, it seems to always crash when it says "Initializing Resources." Once "Initializing Resources" is on screen for a few seconds, it'll crash to a blue screen (not bsod). To fix my blue screen all I have to do is restart windows explorer. Once that is all taken care of, CSGO.exe is on my taskbar and all it says is "Engine Error" however, I can't actually open up the window to find out what the actual error is. I've tried many guides around the internet but none of them work. I've tried also just verifying integrity of cache many times and completely uninstalling many times but these methods don't work either.

Reseat your RAM & run a memtest; methinks your RAM is faulty.

If it comes back clean, defrag your HD & run chkdsk, then the next time you launch CSGO monitor the temps to ensure none of your hardware is overheating.

Memtest came back clean. Also, I have CSGO installed on my SSD. I forgot to include my specs so I will now. I have an intel i5 4690k, gtx 980, and 8gb of g.skill sniper series RAM. Overheating hasn't been an issue at all for me.

Same here, only on blue screen. Map load gets to end of "Initializing Resources" then minimizes to task bar with "engine error". Not a hardware issue, started with doing this immediately after 4/28/2015 update. Have verified integrity of game cache, made no difference.
I'm going to contact steam support, this is slightly irritating, I'll post the fix for it when I find it.

Go to your graphics settings and restore them as default. That's what help me

Im having the same exact issue, started at the beginning of the month, don't know exactly when. I have tried everything, check cache, reinstall game, reinstall steam, replaced motherboard (for other issues) but have gotten nothing. It is only counter strike having the problem AFAIK.

I have since then fixed this problem by closing Precision X. Not sure if it'll work for you but this was my solution.

Bom galera eu tive o mesmo problema e resolvi.
O problema de ERROR ENGINE ocorre por falta de atualização da placa de video!
Atualizando a placa de video com a versao mais recente ira rodar bem de boa...

EU que nao tenho placa de video estava com o mesmo problema pra rodar pois o meu é o drive da placa mãe então atualizei e voltou a funcionar. (INTEL HD GRAPHICS VIDEO)
