I think it's useful while using weapons on long range, esp AK-47. You can get easy kills on Dust 2 at long, when you want to kill the one on A Spot.
But of course you should not do it that often and not in close range, because all you show then is your head and your breast - so the enemie has the chance to get an easy kill.
To see the difference.
Spray a wall - you will see the pattern the weapon makes on recoil. Then crouch and do the same thing you will see the patterns on the wall are identical.
I have tested the AK, the M4 mainly because that is what I use, but have also tested many other weapons.
This is also why the Dynamic Crosshair is missleading - look at any of the top players, they use static crosshairs. I think the problem is that when you crouch, the dynamic crosshair shrinks causing people to think it is like other games and accuracy increases.

Not sure who the author of this document is, but Im here to tell you - its not correct.
The vid I posted shows it in game, can't dispute that. I can, however, dispute numbers - The author spend time on that and it's a decent amount of data - but I have no idea what he is basing that off of since you can clearly see there is no difference on guns fired from a crouch. If you load up a map and simply fire your guns of choice at a wall while standing and then agian while in a crouch you will see for yourself.
I used to crouch when I was a silver 4 (Just got my rank), then as I got to Silver Elite Master, I crouched less. As I got to Gold Nova, I noticed Crouching was never viable.
Now I'm a Gold Nova 4 and I almost never crouch. The only times I crouch is to hide behind a barrel, or if I'm panicking while moving toward a target.
Everytime I crouch and move toward a target, I die, unless the target is horrid.
And i use static crosses.
That's right.
Accuracy becomes nearly pin point when you are crouching and not moving.
But you are an easier target because you are stationary, or slow moving, and its more likely you'll get killed by a headshot.
So there are positives and neagavtives. Better to slow walk, instead of crouching. If you're covering your team mates, camping, or sniping, you want to crouch.
