I won't even touch it if it goes fp2 at a later date now.
EDIT: That said, I think the the Guild Wars 2 payment method would've been best, but at least this shows that Zenimax has confidence in the game.
That all being said, I'm hoping that they'll be offering game time cards at launch or shortly after, otherwise this is something I'll be avoiding. Till they offer that or go F2P, of course.
That's true, some of them just lock content behind timewalls. "Wait 240 hours for this dungeon to respawn." "Pay for more energy to continue playing, or wait until tomorrow for it to recharge!"
Free to Play is never really free, and it's never good.
Still, the game's looking good and I'm hoping to play it soon enough.
The console version will be empty fairly quickly as no one is going to want to pay $15 on top of paying for XBL (unsure if PS+ will be requiered to play this). The PC version will probably see a pretty steep decline in its playerbase after the "NEW SHINY" effect wears off. The content that they have listed so far is not worth a $15 sub and if they don't add new things in fairly quickly to keep people interested then you can expect this game to be F2P in a year or so.
the game itself will be $50 or $60 + 1 month free and the sub will be $14.99
Totally. 60 bucks AND a subsciption?! Not enough characters in the thread for the number of f's I need to put into pfffffffffffffffffffffft! Hmm, how did KOTOR Online do with that...?
If it goes from sub to f2p or b2p then its dead mmo, but the sub fee might get removed before launch yet but I am not counting on it.
Hope they know what they are doing , just being a major franchise wont cut it , SWTOR failed in the subscription model and they had to open it later on.
