No eso for me then, interest lost.

I won't even touch it if it goes fp2 at a later date now.

Good. I'd rather pay for a monthly subsrciption than have 97% of the game locked behind microtransactions.

EDIT: That said, I think the the Guild Wars 2 payment method would've been best, but at least this shows that Zenimax has confidence in the game.

Not bothered at all. Infact I'd assumed it would be.

I prefer the free-to-play with 'Premium' options model, otherwise the world gets empty fast.

Thank god. If it was Free-to-Pay I'd have hated it completely. Now I can at least look at the game's features and get excited without worrying I'll have to pay extra money for "keys" or "revives" or some other crazy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Eh, not all F2P or B2P games lock their gameplay content behind paywalls. Some are successful while only charging for convenience and cosmetic items. But hey, if ZeniMax wants to try the subscription thing, why not. Ballsy move, but I can respect that amount of confidence. There are like, only two big MMOs that are still subscription-only. WoW (it's WoW, they can get away with it because they're a relic), and EVE Online (they can get away with it because EVE is unique, it has no competition, yet). I'm surprised that ZeniMax thinks that TESO will be able to manage it, given that it's not really unique or a relic.

That all being said, I'm hoping that they'll be offering game time cards at launch or shortly after, otherwise this is something I'll be avoiding. Till they offer that or go F2P, of course.

That's true, some of them just lock content behind timewalls. "Wait 240 hours for this dungeon to respawn." "Pay for more energy to continue playing, or wait until tomorrow for it to recharge!"

Free to Play is never really free, and it's never good.

Whoa! $15 a month? I can deal with it, but that's still a bit steep. Those discounts for buying multiple months at a time better be good, otherwise you're paying $180 a YEAR. Yeah, you're getting a lot of content - which is why I'm more than likely still going to play it - but it's still pretty steep. My question is, just how much is the game to start with (meaning that initial 30 day time period)? Is that a full $60? Or is that just $15? Cause $240 for one year of playing a single game could really stretch the will of the fanbase (at least the part of the fanbase that's actually looking forward to TESO). While $15 is certainly do-able, I feel that they'd be better off with $10. $5 is a little too cheap and likely wouldn't fund the project very well; but I feel that $10 would be less of a turn-off to those who are a bit tighter on cash.

Still, the game's looking good and I'm hoping to play it soon enough.

As a PC player, I don't mind a sub if a game is worth it. Personally, I think they shot themselves in the foot with the $15 price tag on the sub though. While most have come to think of $15 as the standard, the sub model is in decline and has been for some time now.

The console version will be empty fairly quickly as no one is going to want to pay $15 on top of paying for XBL (unsure if PS+ will be requiered to play this). The PC version will probably see a pretty steep decline in its playerbase after the "NEW SHINY" effect wears off. The content that they have listed so far is not worth a $15 sub and if they don't add new things in fairly quickly to keep people interested then you can expect this game to be F2P in a year or so.

if its $60 for the game = 1 month sub, and $15 a month on top of that, there's no way in hell i'm buying. but i'll wait until they come out with the price/sub rates before i just walk away from eso

the game itself will be $50 or $60 + 1 month free and the sub will be $14.99

Totally. 60 bucks AND a subsciption?! Not enough characters in the thread for the number of f's I need to put into pfffffffffffffffffffffft! Hmm, how did KOTOR Online do with that...?

I think its way too ballsy, if star wars mmo didn't make it and thats a big following because its star wars, how is eso going to make it with a following that has never had to pay a subscription before.

If it goes from sub to f2p or b2p then its dead mmo, but the sub fee might get removed before launch yet but I am not counting on it.
TheCainPack 21. srp. 2013 v 10.37 dop.
I hate mmo's for this reason... they cost more than other games but I haven't seen one that has quality that is "worth" paying hundreds of dollars over it's life to play. No thank you, I'll stick to skyrim until fallout 4 comes out. I mean, I don't care how much "official" content you get eventually for it. It can't be more than "unofficial mods" add to singleplayer elder scrolls/fallout games.

Well like some said above , i will be skipping it since it is not F2P , honestly , i prefer the guild wars buy once and play forever to F2P , but for sure im not playing a subscription game.

Hope they know what they are doing , just being a major franchise wont cut it , SWTOR failed in the subscription model and they had to open it later on.
