TES Novel
I am currently undertaking a pretty large project in which i am writing a novel based around the events in Skyrim. It further fleshes out many characters, which i feel Skyrim lacked a lot of, and there are multiple points of view. For example, the novel begins with Ulfric's "murder" of Torygg, a scenario we are never given very many details about.

I've ATTEMPTED to stay true to lore as much as possible, but this is not the Skyrim video game in book format, mind you. I always felt the language in Skyrim was too Americanized-english, and thats the best way i can describe it, so i captured all the characters lines in a more archaic English.

The point of this is, i have never shared my writing with anyone. I hate my writing. I think it's good, but I hate it. So, before i further take on this project i would like to have a sample of the novel read and reviewed/edited.

If you would be interested in reading 10-20 pages of the book OR you know someone who might be please drop an email and in a few days i will email you a sample.

ALSO i will need some artists to work on cover art and maps within the book, or just miscellaneous drawings.

ALSO, IF YOU OR SOMEONE YOU KNOW HAS ALREADY WRITTEN SOMETHING SIMILAR TO WHAT I AM DOING, LET ME KNOW. I researched to see if anybody had already done this, and alas, i did not see anything. So i got stuck with the job, but it is not my intention to do something that has already been done several times.

Thank you!
my email is devin0816@gmail.com if you are interested in helping me draw or review

I would stop right now if I were you. I know how much work goes into writing a 500+ page novel. Because you're using existing IPs that do not belong to you, you will NOT be able to publish without permission. And, if you try, you can lose a lot more than your blood, sweat, tears, profit (if any). Contact Bethesda first, see if they're amenable. Though I would not hold my breath on a response.

Some points of advice... whether in prose or dialogue, publishers are not inclined to jump on anything not written to a fifth grade reading level. This includes the use of truly proper grammar, and not-so-common-usage words. Hence, dumbing it down to "Americanized English" might actually give you a better shot at selling it.

Also, if you compare your work to fan-fic, and it's not clearly leagues better, I would suggest improving your writing before attempting a full length novel.

You can also post paragraph samples pre-publishing, and it will NOT be seen by publishers as being "previously published". Whole chapters, though, generally a no-no.

Hey, thanks for the tips. I'm not so worried about selling or publishing it. This is simply something i'm writing just to have fun, maybe share it with some friends. Maybe eventually i might contact Bethesda and attempt to get it published, but honestly publishing this was in the back of my mind. Don't mistake me, i do plan on writing and publishing books in the future, this isn't what i would call a fan-fic, i plan on doing the game justice and beyond, but this particular project is purely for fun. Also, i could compare my work to a fan-fic, but being as I am the author, i might be a little subconsciously biased. Anyways, thanks.

Ahahahaha, i hate the Stormcloaks but it is not hard to see it wasn't an actual murder:) Not a fair duel, perhaps, but yeah not a murder
