Well,i played it with keyboard for a long while and think it is playable but much more enjoyable with a controller.You could also try the demo.

I can play the game with both keyboard and game controller..

However, I strongly recommend you invest in a controller. It just feels natural like a console.
In addition, more and more steam games are starting to lead towards a controllers, so having a controller would be great!

Totally playable with just a keyboard. I've only used a keyboard for this. Like others have said, though, a controller is probably preferable.

You COULD use a keyboard, but they got lazy and didn't change the 360 controller button symbols, so that'll probably be confusing. I prefer using my PS3 controller with Xinput Wrapper.

Like the others said, keyboard-play is definitely possible, but controller-play feels much better. At least if it's a PlayStation 3 controller or XBox 360 controller or similiar.
I like playing with my PlayStation 3 controller. Sadly I can't find it at the moment.

i enjoy it perfectly fine with a keyboard, hell i can play the game with just one hand with a keyboard, makes it so much easier to snack and play at the same time.

Quick stepping is a pain in the finger with a keyboard. Get a gamepad.

I can play it perfectly fine with keyboard. Just make a good layout. I've binded actions to numpad keys according to their locations on X360 gamepad. Feels comfortable.
