The metal detector on Amendment XXV can be completely bypassed (with guns) and without ever having to unhand your weapons.

Walk into the detector, let it go off and the guard will ask you to submit to search.
Walk backwards into the detector until you see the guard return to his default stance.
Walk forward and you should be free to go on ahead. It's okay if the alarm goes off again. It's NOT okay if the guard asks you to submit to search again (repeat in this case).

This is because they programmed the guard to stop his search of you if you run back to the other side of the metal detector after realizing your mistake (and this makes sense). However, the line you need cross to be cleared of the search is inside of the metal detector, so you can trip the line without having to enter the detection zone a second time.

I haven't tried this with other detectors.
