RU-AP mine on wall?

I know you could stick the mine onto "a wall", but haven't figured out how to do it. I had the mine in my hand, and stood right next to a wall, but the cursor didn't turn red?

I was going to stick a mine right on the wall that Manuel would stand in front for a few seconds, but since I couldn't install the mine, I had to wire him instead.

Can someone enlighten me on what I might be doing incorrectly?

I don't know. But one thing you can do is put the mine on the 'thing' (english is not my main language) which holds up a chandelier that is right above him. When you detonate the mine the chandelier will fall and kill him. Also make sure there's no one else in the mine's blast radius. If everything matches it should work and count as an 'accident'.

Yeah I successfully pulled off the above.

But my question re: how to stick mines onto walls still remains.

1) Stand directly in front of the wall on which you'd like to place the mine.
2) Move the cursor/crosshair around (pointing at the wall) until your crosshair becomes red.
3) Click, and the mine will be placed on the wall.

*NOTE* If an NPC such as a police officer, bodyguard, or other security notices the mine, they will take it off of the wall and bring it to a secure location on the map (usually an office).

I have the mine (not the detonator, the mine itself) selected from my inventory, so it's in my hand

I stand in front of a wall

The cross hair does NOT turn red

Not sure what I'm doing wrong here?

Mostly it's a matter of distance and especially angle. Try aiming lower or higher on the wall, or if that fails move a bit further away. Aiming in first person might help you see where you're planting it.
