Gear: Do you have the gear to be there? If you are a dps, are you running around with 50% or less resists? If you are on a builder, was the map already built?
Generally, if a DPS joins my game early on, I will let them stay regardless of gear. But as the later waves roll in, and they are undergeared, it's generally to my benefit to kick them as they will likely die trying to collect mana and become a hinderance to my map because of more mobs and them more or less being afk or dieing in the first half of the wave.
Building: I never use private server because I do like to play with people. With that said, I find the majority of people have no strategy to their build other then use as much DU as possible. For this reason, I will host a game and immediately click the "Hide match" button so that I can take the first 1-2 build phases to set the map up and then click "Show Match." Occasionally, I will forget to "Hide Match," and will kick someone that joins before they have a chance to start grabbing chests/building things (unless it's a barb/jester, I won't kick a dps).
Game Name: What have they titled the server? Does it say "DPS Only" and you pop in with a builder? does it say "Builders Needed" and you popped in with a DPS?
These things may seem trivial at a glance, but when I build a map for 35 waves, I'm planning to be there for a while and don't want people wasting time causing it to take longer.
Example: (Building) I start a Tavern Defense Survival NMHC Survival. I forget to hit the "Hide Match" button, and i'm beginning on wave 15. I'm on my 93 Summoner with 3100/5100/2000/1900 for stats summoning minions on the buff beams I already have down. In pops another summoner who is level 79 with 1200/1700/600/900 for stats. I say through voice chat not to summon anything and switch to a dps hero. About 15 seconds later "XXXXXX Summoned a Warrior Minion" pops up on my screen.
Example: (Gear) I'm doing Morrago NMHC Survival MM. I build the map and unlock the game (started map at wave 12 opened it at 14). Within 30 seconds I have 3 other people join the game. This significantly boosts the amount of monsters about to spawn, which I'm ok with as things will get Up'd faster. And I know my build will hold to wave 25 with nothing but buff beams at 3 stars. I'm on my Jester for map wide repairs, so I tell them all they have to do is upgrade. Two of them are in builder gear and none of them have a dps char/dps gear or a genie. But, I allow them to stay anyways. The monk and countess died on the first 3 waves (1 time each wave, which is an issue for me on hardcore) which means lack of upgrades going into the build. But, I am using my Genie so I can build mana pretty quickly and I manage to 3 star all the buff beams. When wave 20 hits, all 3 of them died in the first 100 monsters. Wave 21, again 2 of them die before 100 monsters have died. At this point, they should know that they don't belong here, but I have to kick them because they choose not to leave.
Example: (Game Name) I am about to do Boss Rush NMHC. My server title is "DPS Only - I build." The first 2 people to join the match tell me they don't have a DPS character yet, but are hoping to level one soon.
As you can see, the environment was created by the players. Evaluate "why" you might have been kicked. If it's nothing you did wrong, don't worry about it. Look for another one. But those 3 reasons are why I will kick someone.
Edit: Jester, I love the Jester class. The Kill % of monsters and map wide repair/heal is absolutely amazing. But outside of Wheel o' Fortuna, you are essentially useless to me. I will kick a Jester that has not taken the time to master WOF because their usefulness is subpar when compared to Hunter/Ranger and Barb without WOF.
Dude, I'm sorry you decided to quit because of this but you are right, it happens, all too often, and the people who do it are reeeeeally creepy.
Well, the whole point of soloing is not having to wait on others, and obviously, to aovid this kind of crap coming from raging internerds.
If you ever decide to have another go and reinstall, add me, I can help you set your game up so you can solo your games.
Fair enough, you will hardly find any team players on this game if you don't host your own games.
It's like hosting a party with the purpose of meeting people, or something like that.
Anyway, good luck on your future endeavors.
I'm sure I'll end up giving it another go in a few days.... The boredom of being limited on what you can play sucks.
I think what would help is more of a description in a game name, so people can add additional rules or whatever. There's simply not enough space in the server name to supply enough info, and this applies to shops, too.
If I get kicked because I'm too high a level, sure, fine, I get that, fine by me... would be nice to say WHY first, but eh.. I'm an adult, I'll deal with it. If someone is an ass, or ignores simple "No building/looting" rules, then fine, it's cool, kick is understandable. There are reasons. Sometimes you might loot like mad and not understand about the looting so end up getting kicked.. which used to happen to me in my "noobish" days, but I understand it now.
At the end of the day, it's just a game. Plenty of games, and plenty of people. I've met loads of AWESOME people on this game, so I'm not complaining.
As for Morgue Rabbit, assuming any of that is actually true, then WOW... unlucky. :( Sad to read, but I hope you get better somehow.
Best of luck to you!
I think also sometimes people take being kicked too much to heart (sorry for the bad pun) "kick" can be quite an excessive word when it's just.. removing them from the game. A lot of people taking being kicked so personally. |: Well, at the core of it all (sorry, another pun) I'm just thankful for the nice people and/or indeed the other adults.
Anyway I think I got help in time because I'm not feeling as if I'm going to die from the pains and stuff just really weak all of the time... The pain is like the residual pain after you get punched in the chest just deeper below the rib cage... It's a odd feeling honestly.
