Controller 1 player?

is there a way to play alone with the controller. i only seem to play with the controller if two people are in game. me with the mousepad, and me with the controller. so how do you play alone with the controller? pleas help

Indeed, Plug in the controller and start the game, then when you get to the Character Selection Screen simply press Start on your controller. It needs to be an Xbox360 Controller or one compatible with the 360 unless you get an external program to have it mimic one.
