Power Leveling Server?

Was playing with a friend when we decided to join other people. He joined a random server, and i followed him. It was a survival map and all the traps were placed already. I noticed i could not attack during the waves at all, then when 1 wave was completed i had suddenly gone from level 50 to level 71.

Also noticed the enemies ignore me, and i could walk through traps and enemies. Is that a legit server or was it modded? Only play this the odd time at the weekends, but was surprised to jump that many levels in 1 wave.

Whomever placed the Ballista's they were shooting like 40 arrows every second and insta killing nightmare NPC's

It's a mode like survival mode, just where you are able to ONLY use towers, you cant repair or build or attack during the waves and its called: Pure Strategy.
Going from level 50-71 is not unreal, rather real in nightmare. When I boost people in nightmare king's game then 1 wave gets them from 1-61 then 2nd wave 61-70+ etc.

I did notice it slowed down a lot after i got to level 71. Just thought it odd is all as iv heard people using mod/hack in this game a fair bit. Was just curious. Thanks for the answer.

most likely you were on Tavern Defense pure strategy and not a hacked game its all trash mobs no ogres
on pure the enemies cant hurt you and you cant hurt them ,you cant repair towers during a wave and you will walk right through them

you will get 1-3million experience a wave on nm Tavern Defense

it all sounds normal for an end game builder I'm guessing you exaggerated the ballista speed they can 5-12 a second depending on if they are boosted or not

Not normal on survival.

Normal. NM survival can give lots of xp, depends on map and wave.

Aha, this means you were not on survival, but on survivals evil sister: Pure strategy. This answers the first oddity: not being able to attack. It is part of the purestrat ruleset.

If you are not exaggerating:
Not normal at all. If you managed to get screenshots you should immediately report.
You should still report, there is a good chance that the GMs can see hacked gear on his account.

Just to be clear, lots of small stuff can be "instakilled" or, more correctly, one-shot by harpoons and some other defenses, but generally the following wont be oneshot, ever, with legit gear: ogres, sharken, djinn, copterdropped ogres.
Also 40 is way out of the attainable range. You'd be hard pressed to get above 10/sec on harpoons, specially without a NM quality huntress guardian actively boosting the rate.
It is worth noting that none of the mentioned should be appearing on pure strategy.

Ah ok maybe it was normal. MIght of been slightly exaggerating with the 40 per sec, but it was a lot, like if you had 2 harpoons shooting, you would see the top half of the spear shaft of the first, and half way down you would see the second spears top half, and so on and so forth. It was definitely shooting far to fast to accurately count each one. Visually it was imo more than 5 to 12. And defintely faster than per second.

If i come across the server again ill take a screen shot. Never thought about it at the time and me and my friend lost connection to the server suddenly yesterday after a couple of waves. So dunno if the host just took it down or not.

sounds like a .10 - .12 attack rate.
