Crash at Chapter 6 after discussion with Damien for sleeping arrangements

Please help, I keep crashing right after the discussion with Damien at his house, no way to save and then the CRASH comes. I am using Windows 7...anyone know of a patch or how to get around it. PLEASE HELP, want to finish the rest of the game.

There are the obvious fixes through Steam, i.e., verifying the cache, backing up your save and doing a clean install (remove local content, then re-download). I didn't have this issue myself, and I'm running Windows 7 on that machine. If I figure something out, I'll pass it on, though.

A clean re-install worked for me when I had similar crashing issues (although mine were in a cutscene in Chapter 7).

Also, on some machines, there are some crashing/freezing isses that you can get around by setting the graphics settings to minimum (and then setting them back to normal after getting through the problematic custcene or other game segment).

Try hitting the "B" button twice (assuming you're using an Xbox controller) to cancel the discussion as soon as it starts. Usually when that happens it is a problem with either the video or sound involved in the cut-scene or action (in this case, the discussion with Damien) that causes it to fail loading the next area.
