Do you mean as in a different looking one? Because if so then your best bet is looking through the workshop for reskins.. Otherwise learning to texture and/or do 3D models (depending on how extensive the changes are) is the only way.

If you mean IRL portal device (which would explain the term "cheap") then using one's imagination is truly the only way
