Portal 2
It won't start, 'missing executable'
For the past couple weeks now, Portal 2 won't start for me. I launch it, then after a couple seconds it dings then says 'missing executable'. I haven't had any luck with it. I figured my best bet is to completely delete the game off my PC entirely then reinstall it, so I delete all the local content from my library and reinstall it, but it does a quick ~40 MB update and gives me the same problems. I could probably manually delete everything, but I want to see if there is a simpler solution first. Thanks.

Ok, I found out how to completely re-download it. You have to delete the Portal 2 Authoriting Tool. THen you can do a total redownload of Portal 2. I hope this helped.

Ironicly, I already figured that out, but thanks for figuring it out independently for me, though.

You need to right click on Portal 2, then click down on Backup Game Files. It will say "select the games you wish to restore etc. etc." and it will have a tick on P2, click next. It will say choose a directory to save game files or something. Choose or keep it to Desktop, then click next, it will ask for a name. Choose a name and file size click next.
One the download is done go onto Steam and open Portal 2 and it should work. Hope this was help. :)

P.S. You might need to change the grid view when you start.
