Portal 2 authoring tools not starting.

I just downloaded the authoring tools, and whenever I try to run it, it just doesn't do anything. I reinstalled it a couple times already, but that didn't do anything. It's either just not running, or it's taking a VERY long time to start up. This was the best place I could think of to post this, couldn't find a forum for the authoring tools. Thanks for any help in advance.
