Why do so many people think there's going to be a Portal 3?

Unless you're into corn field simulators I really don't see what Portal 3 would be about. The series should just end at 2 so it doesn't get run into the ground/become another meme warehouse for eight year olds.

I don't think there's going to be a Portal 3, there is no more storyline to add. And if we play as a new character in a Portal 3, wouldn't it be just the original Portal all over again?

That scene added after they were making portal 2, was like a super mini dlc scene.

If anything in the portal series that should be next is a spinoff game about the CoOp bots, but that could be a dlc. We have more than enough tests with test creator though.

There is enough user generated content out there to keep you busy for a very long time. Portal 3 wouldn't add anything new. Leave the series at 2.
