Im really confused about the backstory of GLaDoS

Theres a few questions i need to get answered, im dying to know them -_-

1. When Glados has those cores originally on her, is that caroline or is it caroline when glados has no cores?

2. If the morality core was a fail, how come in the boss fight it stopped her from getting neurotoxin?

3. Why did her morality core fall off?

4. Where did all the portal 2 clones come from?

5. How did all the cores end up on glados if she killed all the scientests first?

6. In the end of portal how come she sings of how happy she is in "still alive" and then ends up to be super angry in portal 2.

7. How did caroline die?, was she harvested into glados?

If anyone could answer these, you would make my life better (not really)

1. I think she was Caroline basically, but modified with the cores
2. You deactivated the Neuorotoxin

4. They were recruited from the elite, not knowing their fate

1.Caroline is only a part of GLaDOS, giving her a personaility that the computer took to an extreme. The cores supressed it a little.
2.The scientists already had a morality core, and when she gained access to the neurotoxin emmiters and used them, the scientists put the core on her, but they were too late to survive, but early enough to save the test subjects.
3.Nobody really knows, not even GLaDOS herself, but it was probably a malfunction.
4.They were test subjects that were frozen to be thawed out by GLaDOS later, but the scientists died before granting her access.
5.See answer 2.
6.She was being sarcastic in "Still Alive", and actually meant that she hates your guts.
7.Caroline never died.(Unless she was really deleted at the end of Portal 2) Cave Johnson scanned her brain and put it into GLaDOS, so she could live forever, however Caroline did not want that,(Most likely she wanted to die with Cave, as he was deathly ill.) and grew resentful and forgot her past, making her who she is today.

1. Using Caroline as a basis, they put her into the computer system, and used her mind to make an A.I. who would actually want to run the facility.
2. You disabled the neurotoxin.
3. She wanted to kill Chell when she got into the central A.I. chamber, however I think the Morality Core limited her from using the Rocket Turret in her chamber. I think she must've made it fall off by herself, then used reverse psychology to get Chell to throw it into the incinerator located in the room, saying things like:
"Did you see that thing that fell out of me? What is that? I've never seen it before."
"Do you think I'm trying to trick you with reverse psychology? I mean, seriously now."
"I wouldn't bother with that thing. I guess touching it will only make your life worse, somehow."
4. They're all A.I.'s just like her, all designed to keep her in check.
5. They were installed before she killed everyone. See Portal: Lab Ratt for more info about this.
6. She's GLaDOS. Still Alive is about how she only cares about science and how she hates you. Want You Gone is about how she, well, wants you gone. Not because she hates you, but because she has Atlas and P-body to do her tests and the fact that she now cares about you.
7. We don't know for certain how Caroline died. Perhaps her mind was directly implated into the system so she was still alive, just as of GLaDOS now.

Caroline's personality was incorporated into GLaDOS' AI to an extent yet is not necessarily connected to a specific core or combination of cores - The cores were able to modify/suppress/enhance certain aspects of the information and processing of AI.

It didn't.

There must have been some form of fault which occured, possibly during the gameplay (When GLaDOS' psychotic nature appears to grow more evident) or previously.

4. Where did all the portal 2 clones come from?

Orphans from the Wish foundation and other test subjects.

5. How did all the cores end up on glados if she killed all the scientests first?

It was only the morality core that was required to prevent her killing. Some brave scientist may have jsut been able to activate this or amend its programming prior to their death.

In Still Alive, there's more than a hint of sarcasm and patronising since GLaDOS was 'assumed' to be "killed", yet she can turn round and rub Chell#'s face in it to show that instead, Chell's efforts were all for nought since she (GLaDOS) is 'Still Alive'.
There has been a lot of time in between, enough for GLaDOS with corrupting cores and the events of P1 and P2 multiplayer, to grow even more resentful, derisive and spiteful. Although She (GLaDOS, certainly displayed these qualities preiviously, just not to such degree)

7. How did caroline die?, was she harvested into glados?

It's not known, however, aspects of her personality live on as GLaDOS - we aren't entirely sure if the process was lethal to the "real" Caroline or not.
