I can't decide whether or not I can bring myself to play another Match 3 game.

This looks like a good one but after Puzzle Quest 1/2, PQ - Galactrix, and the glut of match 3 mobile games I'm scared that even a top notch example of the genre is going to get 5 minutes of playtime before I stick it in the pile.

Feeling a little burned out on this genre. Is there anything beyond the Match 3 gameplay? Is it, for instance, more or less complex than a Puzzle Quest 2?

From what I have seen there is a lot of stratagy involved in this game. it's not just simpley a "match 3" you have a limited number of moves that you can make each turn to set up the battle field. there is also timing involved in how you move units around the battle field to further strengthen your attacks.

it really is an interesting concept and all though there is a basic "match 3" concept involved the game offers a lot more then that. If you're still on the fence about things I would try finding some game play vidoes on youtube or something along those lines.

It's a good game and is notably different from the PuzzleQuest games in some respects. But if you're really burned-out on these "puzzle battle"-style games, I really can't recommend it. Maybe revisit the idea of buying it in a few months and see how you feel.

This game is nothing like those other "match 3" games. Including the great Puzzle Quest

Give this game a try and you'll be very surprised at how good it is. The match 3 nature seems to take a backseat to the turn-based strategy, that's how well combined the mechanics are.

The "match 3" (or in the case of some units, "match 5") is just a small part of the overall strategy. It's really addictive. (I have played the game through three times now, it's that addictive.)
