Sudden Strike 3

Sudden Strike 3

RedSector73 May 22, 2017 @ 9:10pm
Failure to Start
I'm getting C:\Trunk\CodeSource\Common\Network\NetInterface.cpp(50): NetInterface: CoCreateInstance Failed.

Error

For both:

Sudden Strike 3
Sudden Strike 3 Last Stand

Any ideas ?

Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit

Can supply system spec's if needed.

ADDED 25/05/2017
My install of this game is G: Drive. Which suggests to me that the problem is in the EXE file itself.

Can anyone confirm working on Windows 10 64 bit ?

Hi everybody.
Please run a check of your local gamefiles, by doing the following:
  • Select Sudden Strike 3 from your Steam library
  • Right-click on your game
  • Select 'Properties'
  • Select 'Check Integrity of Game Cache' from the 'Local Files' tab (Please Note that this might take several minutes)

If this does not work, we also recommend to start the game in compatibility mode, e.g. XP.
To set the compatibility mode, do the following:
  • Right-click game .exe and select properties (by default: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sudden Strike 3)
  • Click the Compatibility tab and tick the checkbox labelled "Run this program in compatibility mode
  • Now you can select a Compatibility Mode and select e.g. “Windows XP”
  • Additionally, if you have not made the step in advance, tick the box below labelled "Run this program as administrator"
  • Click on "OK" to apply the changes and start the game with double click on the game’s .exe.

-cheers

Hi Unerde,

I have tried that all but unfortunately it is still not working for me.

Can anyone confirm that above steps are working for you ?

Many thanks

thats kinda silly that they have put the old sudden strikes on steam and they dont even work on windows 10.

question is will there be a fix or tough luck?

Same error here. Tried cache verification, tried WinXP compatibility and running the game as administrator. Nothing works. Sudden Strike 1 works just fine, though (haven't tried the others yet). In any case I guess I can't complain since they were gifted.

<Upd>
Just checked, Sudden Strike 2 works fine as well.

Sudden Strike 2 works fine on Steam Windows 10 and Windows 7. Does this game not work on Windows 10 as I can't get it to start either :-(

Norton Antivirus detect 2 files as very risky heuristique virus. Think that is the problem because those files are delete by norton.

Don't use Norton on this machine, rather MacAfee. Doesn't usually cause any problems.

I dont use either

Yes, I'm running Windows 10 Pro - 64bit Creators Edition OS Build 15063.296 Version 1703

Thank you for suggested help to date. The problem still exists for me and nothing suggested has fixed it. Added a comment to first post and corrected minor spelling error (doubled up the e in CoCreateInstance) which now corrected.

Does anyone on Windows 10 - 64 bit have this working ?

Above has been tried but on Win10 64bit this did not help.

The error =

C:\Trunk\CodeSource\Common\Network\NetInterface.cpp(50) CoCreateInstance Failed

keeps occuring.
