Far Cry 5, end of the game but can't freeroam?

Soo.. I completed the story line, the credits roll.. then I clicked continue because I still have some outposts to do and such. But when I do so, the credits will roll again and sent me back to the main menu. Does this mean I can't continue freeroam or what?

Given the ending, it makes sense that you won't be able to continue after it.

I keep seeing this popping up. One poster resolved this issue but his "detailed description" was

"Idk.. I restarted several times and eventually it let me play"

Wish I could help more, but apparently it is possible to get back to free roam.

Are you telling me they removed play after credits thing? What!!!??? I haven't played the game yet, but if it's true i'm not sure if i even would in the first place!

Well in previous games you could still play free roam after the story. I mean, wouldn't it be better to use a save before the last mission so you could still free roam around? 26 hours in so far, does that mean this is it? :|

Overreact much? That is a reason not to play? LOL and knowing it could be an issue ahead of time, just dont do the last few story missions, problem solved.

Ok i found out in another thread that this is actually a bug and you can fix it that way:

Restarted once and then it worked. So it seems to be a bug then.

Restart the game and continue after the credits start to roll. Should place you on the tower of the starting island and you are free to roam. At least it did for me.

Simpy going back to the menu and then doing continue does not work. Needs a restart.

There is a slight workaround that many players have already found. 1. Restarting the game for example. 2. Pressing continue and tabbing to fast travel is another fix. No news yet on a patch (hotfix) to fix this current bugs.

How does a bug like this go unnoticed in QA? Oh, and while you guys are at it, you might want to tweak the enemy AI just a tad. Thanks.
