MY TWO CENTS ON HOMEFRONT AND BATTLEFIELD 4 AND WHICH IS BETTER

PROS'S OF BF4 AND HOW IT OUTWAYS HF:

- One of the main pro's of BF4 would have to be the sheer range of weopon custamisation and options. BF4 has been well renound for being one of the leading games with immence varity of assault rifles, LMG'S, SMG and snipers as well as explosives, pistols, knives and camos. These are things that HF lacks in and was one of the biggest complaints for gamers when it came out in 2011.

- BF4 graphics. This should be no suprise, aswell as its sheer varity, BF4 has graphics that, if put on ultra settings, can blow any gamers mind out. Yes, HF is old and its silly comparing a game that came out 3-4 years later but you cannot duck out of the fact that BF4's graphics are breathtaking.

- BF4's vehicle custimisation and range of vehicles. BF4 has tanks,LAV's, Scouts, Apaches, Transport helis, Heavy Trucks, speedsters, Lights armour boats, Heavy armour boats and attack boats. Like my very first point, BF4 has a range of vehicles for every purpose with extencive custimisation that even lead you on to custimising vehcile camos.

BF4's maps. Large scale maps with immence interactions, like the iconic levelation. This enables you to change the maps terrrain, size and look by shooting weak points of the map with heavy artilary.

CON'S OF BF4'S AND HOW HF IS BETTER:

- You may have noticed, that I put nothing for gameplay for the pro's of BF4. This is because i was left disppointed. BF4's gameplay is rugged, slow and sometimes unresponcive. So slow that you end up just leaving the match completely. An example would be that when you go to prone to shoot an enemy that has cought you off guard ( a tactic well used in HF for years) you end up dying, because, you cannot shoot and prone at the same time. You have to finish the motion of proning before you can shoot. This leads to slow and skepticle game without any confidence becasue when you find yourself in this situation, your are almost certain you are going to die. And its not just proning, is jumping and crouching, your character has to finish the motion before you can shoot. Overall gameplay very slow and rugged.

- Gameplay is also slow with vehicles. Slow and unpredeictble. Very rugged and heavy movement. LAV (sorry TONIC) is nothing like what is is on HF. The main cannon is weak and unsatisfying and you expereience severe bullet drop after just shooting mid range, something that the LAV in real life would be disppointed to hear. The tank aswell slow and not powerfull.


PRO'S ON HOMEFRONT AND HOW IT OUTWAYS BF4:

- quick easy gameplay similar, similar to call of duty but more realistic. The gameplay in HF is quick and responsive, proning is quick and easy when you are in a tight stop and aiming downsight aswell as running is easy and satisfying. you can run and gun aswell as post and shoot.

- vehcile gameplay easy responsive and smooth. LAV is like a sniper on wheels which is really nice. Tank powerfull as it should be with the right ballance of power and weakness ( one c4 on turret and tank out, 2 rpg on turrent and tank out, 4 proxi shots on turret and tank out.

- Scout gameplay fast smooth and angelic, differeing in BF4. In BF4 its very rugged and slow however on HF is fast and clean. same with apache.

- Battlepoints. Players can earn vehciles and special abilities rather than having them from the start, this leads to more competatice gameplay as well as a build up of tension in game, rather than, having everything from the get go.

- Perks. Perks were one of the things that HF got praise for. My faveriout being ice cold and ghost aswell as run and gunning perks like: quickdraw, tacticle reload and know thats a knife and steady aim. This adds and sence of personality and character in your gameplay making you play at your play style. You can go full stealth with ice cold, ghost and a silencer on your gun, or go guns blazing with lmg and fist full. Also there are differnt perks for droners which is also a bonus.

- special weopons: rpg and proxy, ammo resupply and thermal goggles

- airsticks. Another thing that HF got praise for. Hellfire and cluster bomb are satisfying with the ability to be earned with the help of BP

- Pure Sniper. Unlike BF4, the sniping is more satisfying, esspesially with the m200. Add ice cold and ghost, and you can be a ninja on the other end of a map.



VERDICT:

- This is my no means every point but i can assure you, they are the most important. Yes homefront is not as famous or iconic but beleive me and i am sure anyone would agree with me too, if HF was more popular, with better graphics and more variaty of weopons and so on , id rather play it any day over BF4.

thanks man, just wanted to let my opinions out, dont really care who reads it. just been thinking of switching from hf after 7 years of playing. The game is dead and not that many people are doing much about it

I'm not sure why you would compare the two games, but I will say that I loved that BF made people complete the motion of going to prone before allowing them to shoot. Because nothing pisses me off more than a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ going prone and spray and prey. So lame.

thats a good question, tbh i dont know why i didnt compare it to bad company 2, i guess its because most of the friends i play with on HF are leaving for bf3, bf4, bf1. As a player who has played homefront since the beginning and who has played bf for a couple of years now, i guess (in relation to my friends on steam) it was nice to give my opinion.
