If am not mistaken, Dota 2, is not free, so it has a value to some people. If they want it for free. Is it F2P?
That's why in my opinion gifts have no value.
I filled out the survey, I got the game in 7 days, but I did not get any gifts. I have 0. So, honestly, Valve is choosing on who is valuable enough to get first hand free access to begin with. If you are a valued customer and you play the game regularly, you obviously get extra gifts to hand out. Which why you two seem to have 5-10 copies of the game, while I have none.
Sounds to be like, there is a value here. Since not everyone can get the game free.
But you are right, its not easy to get it. If you need gifts, add me, got a few.
