Custom Maps and Mods
I know there are a lot of good custom maps for L4D, but is it impossible to find other people to play these with? No fun playing L4D alone or with bots, that's for sure! But, it's hard enough just finding a normal game. Also, all the steam group servers that are listed are all in russia? What's up with that?

Plenty of servers that are out there for custom maps, have you tried adding people to friends list who play custom campaigns as well as normal ones?

How might I find those servers? There's not really a server browser in L4D, except for the Steam Group Servers, but all the ones listed there are located in Russia for some reason.

Open the console and type "openserverbrowser" there is one for l4d.
