Game not responding?

Started the game up first time since buying it and it ran jittery after the crash at the start (weirdly no jitters during the helicopter flight) toyed with the graphics and changed the graphics to software based in the menu, since then every time i start the game up its a black screen and not responding in the task manager, i have tried reinstalling the game but that did nothing.....HELP!
